Relics of Voices Once Visible attempts to offer presence to absence, and transform immateriality into physicality. The act of offering presence to something that has disappeared can serve as a way to acknowledge the impact that the disappearance has had on those who were left behind.
The installation is accompanied by a text-based performance sound installation. It speaks of the systematic violence on sexual minorities in Egypt. The piece also depicts denial as a psychological coping mechanism and an act of self-arming.
