un//masking workshop
a workshop for neurodivergent* people
Workshop, 120 minutes, Saturday 16.03.24 - Limited to 15 people, workshop only with registration!
un//masking is a workshop by Lovis Heuss (-/they), based on the current Unmasking discourse (Devon Price, Ellie Middleton). Masking is the conscious or unconscious suppression of neurodivergent* symptoms in order to fit into a neurotypical society (e.g. fidgeting or suppressing sounds, social scripts...). This is essential for survival, but constantly costs us energy. Various guided exercises should enable you to better understand your own masking and perhaps reduce parts of it more consciously (in safe spaces) in the future. The exercises are followed by a voluntary exchange.
Individual participation in the exercises is encouraged, but not compulsory. Each exercise can be suspended without problems and listening to one's own needs is strongly encouraged.
This workshop is specifically aimed at neurodivergent* people.
"Neurodivergent" does not mean conforming to the neuro-norm or neurotypical.
The term is therefore used for people who, for example
AD(H)S,
autism,
Tourette's syndrome,
or have a bipolar "disorder".
Any form of neurodivergence is welcome.
Self-diagnoses are also valid and welcome.
