Dear friends,

The National Council has decided that Switzerland should stop its contributions to UNRWA, despite the fact that this relief agency provides essential services that no other organization in the region can offer during the current humanitarian crisis. With its 13,000 staff members, UNRWA reaches far more needy and war-affected people than any other relief agency. Already a year ago, UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned that Gaza is "becoming a graveyard for children." Experts had raised the alarm that we are witnessing in Gaza "the fastest recorded decline in a population's nutritional status."

To seek the abolition of UNRWA is nothing less than trampling on Switzerland's humanitarian tradition. Let's not allow this to happen! Now is the time to take action and support UNRWA!
