ZW Performance Week 17-23.06.2024

We are more than excited to announce the second edition of our performance week showcasing 7 performances in BR and Halle. Most of the performances happen on two consecutive days. Information about PLAYBOIS (22.06 20:00), Exit (22.06 21:00) and The Chili Dance (22.06 during TILT) below:

Exit
Exit, a forgotten festival where tragedy rediscovers its primary function: to be the necessary, obscure double of the political game, to remind us of the wanderings of beings and the original dysfunction of all human organisation. it's the enigma of humanity on the verge of becoming a society, the immemorial tragedy of a collective life always threatened with self-destruction. There is a territory without vulgarity, without moral halftones, where solitude, art and the sacred commune infinitely. This project joins us in a solar theatrical hymn of flesh and blood, cries and colors, in the name of love and beauty, in the name of life and death.

PLAYBOIS
PLAYBOIS is a meta verse space coming to life. Where the two performers Yann Slattery and Yevheniya Kravets are visiting and testing masc energies from a trans* perspective.
Incorporating the TikTok trend ‚Never let them know your next move‘, Yann and Yevheniya went into embodying Non-Playable Characters that get moved around in space, fusing movement material from different GTA characters together.
Questioning where their impulses are coming from, the playbois imagine getting played by the dolls while transporting audiences into a parallel universe where trans* joy reigns supreme.

The Chili Dance
Depending on the species, chili peppers contain different levels of capsaicin. Capsaicin promotes blood circulation and simulates an injury to the nervous system. The resulting pain is perceived to varying degrees. When taken orally, the intake of fatty foods can provide relief and make the time until the release of endorphins and dopamine more bearable. The Chili-Dance was created during a research stay in Mexico and examines the physicality of chili consumption.
