This is event is held in German.
Is AD(H)D a fashionable diagnosis? Are all people with AD(H)D really restless, impulsive and chaotic? How do symptoms of AD(H)D differ according to gender? What are the resources of AD(H)D sufferers? And how can substances make their everyday lives easier or more difficult? The attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder ADHD is becoming increasingly well-known and at the same time there are many prejudices, ignorance and false narratives.
16.12.2023 :
The AD(H)S Day at the Zentralwäscherei Zurich provides information, creates space for reflection and encounters and creates new narratives - for those affected themselves, relatives, professionals and anyone interested in the topics of ADHD and neurodivergence.
15:00: The "unmasking" workshop is aimed specifically at neurodivergent people. "unm//maski is a workshop by Lovis Heuss (-/they), based on Devon Price's book "unmasking autism".
17:30: We are showing a film by artist and filmmaker Sophia Ralston. Doctor Elsa Wuchner will speak about gender and ADHD. The gender health gap is very evident in ADHD. Affected females, who are 4 times less likely to be diagnosed, are less hyperactive, but dreamy, inattentive and forgetful.
18:30: Markus Mäder (teacher and HR expert), Thilo Beck (Head of Psychiatry at Arud, the Centre for Addiction Medicine in Zurich) and Ondine Riesen (coach, start-up founder and self-affected person) will take part in a panel discussion on the topic of "ADHD and substances", moderated by Marah Rikli (journalist and inclusion activist).
20:30: Finally, the band "raucous babies" will perform. Their stage becomes a nervous system of attention: they create a unique world of experience in which the audience can immerse themselves in order to convey a body-based experience of AD(H)S.
The event space will be filled with art, photography and poetry by Hannah Gottschalk, Celina Palacios Bravo and Lola Nübling from 16.12.-22.12.23.
