STRANGE DAYS

Something feels “off.” We wake up from our autopilot mode, suddenly become aware of routine actions, pause, and think things like, “Huh? I'm here. I'm breathing. What am I doing right now, and why? My houseplant is alive. I'm so strange. I am.”

In Strange Days, a tap dancer, an actor/dancer, and a musician meet in the exciting world of theater.
The production is dedicated to the theme of everyday coexistence. Three roommates spend a day together at home. They encounter each other in seemingly ordinary situations and explore together the absurd aspects of everyday routines and processes.
In contrast to the daily grind, the roommates long for new, unknown experiences. Moments of playfulness and reflection arise, creating a shared exchange between different artistic languages. Together, the performers pause and create spaces to share fears and abysses, search for meaning, and find pleasure in the small things.
In these interstices of everyday life, the boundaries between reality and surrealism become blurred. What absurd comedy and abysses are hidden in our coexistence?

The Compagnie tapdrumbreak combines tap dancing, acting, contemporary dance, and music, exploring the similarities and contrasts between these art forms and entering into a dialogue. They use the overlaps they find as a means of communication, with rhythm serving as the central connecting element. In doing so, they often transcend the boundaries between their artistic fields and step outside the comfort zone of their own artistic craft. This creates space for new syntheses or allows failure to have its place.
